OUTLOOK 2003 TIPS

OUTLOOK AND EXCHANGE: You may be using Outlook, with or without Exchange. Outlook is the Microsoft mail client and it provides a personal calendar, task list and contact lists.  Exchange is more or less invisible running on the network tying all of the organization's Outlook clients together and allowing sharing of information.  Exchange adds tremendous power to Outlook - using Exchange you can use shared calendars, tasks lists, and shared contact lists - such as suppliers and vendors, clients, and staff contact lists.

OUTLOOK TIPS 1 :Email to Task to Appointment  - if you receive an email you want to turn into a task for follow-up, you can just drag the email to the "Task" button. Outlook opens a new task - already filled in with the data from the email.
Then to schedule a meeting regarding the task, you could open your calendar - perhaps the Workweek view.  From the Outlook View button on the navigation toolbar you can select "TaskPad."  This creates a very useful view of the calendar side by side with your tasks.  You can drag a task to an open time on your calendar and easily create an appointment for the task.
